Assuming online courses might not remain as an option in the future- is there an expiration on it? If you still have 2-3 ways before your 5years requirements, can you take these courses a few years in advance?

The language certificate has no expiration date.
We are doing it now just in case they change the rules, we can prove we satisfied the requirements applicable when we were granted residency.

What course are you guys mentioning? Does this count as language for GV?
- Language certificate does not expire.
- Most online providers are not themselves in the PLA list but partner with some offline courses and in reality give you the certificate of that school. They usually not advertise the name on their web site. From that point of view, to do it now is a good idea. If Portugal starts control it and says that such practic is wrong, you will be safe as yr certificate does not differ from the others.
- However, it is very unclear what would happen if this school is dropped from the PLA list (never heard that such thing happened) or Portugal stops accept certificates from courses at all. I would guess that they will not accept it. But I have not seen the idea to accept only exam ever discussed. And Portugal usually gives transitional period when changes smth to the worth.
So why not. The probability that it wonβt be accepted is low, and even if it happens after courses it will take less time to prepare for exam.
