In advance of our appointment, we gathered a large list of documents in consultation with our lawyer. I am not sure exactly what was accepted by AIMA as we were not in the room for that part, just our lawyer was. We worked to make sure our complete names were on all documents (First Middle Last). Thank you very much for your kind reply. Your experience is extremely useful for me and others. Huge congratz to you and your wife on the success of getting PR.
Primary applicant - RE based renewal at Vila Real on 23-Sep-2025. Still awaiting the renewed card and anxiety levels going up. Lawyers say we just need to wait.
Same date for me but Teixeira. Mybe by year end. My wife’s renewal was on Feb 11. We are now betting which will come first for her - citizenship or renewal.
My husband’s renewal was mid Sep in Santarem. Still no card.
Mine was mid Dec in Lisbon - no card.
My daughter’s was on the day of the strike in Dec - renewal appointment only in July. Honestly I despair. This whole process upsets me more and more.
I asked my lawyer if she can renew online and the lawyer said no the online renewal is online for cards expiring after July 2025. Ours expired in December 2024. This really is so upsetting.
did you also go to the appointment for renewal on 16th Feb? What happened in the appointment? You also did the renewal online. Please share your experience if possible. Many thanks in advance
Hello all, Has anyone with renewals in July or August 2025 received their cards yet?? Is see a lot of posts for sept-Dec 2025 but our renewals were July and August and nothing yet. Any Idea what month they are at in 2025??
I went to the appointment on the 16th and spent the whole day there, but the system was down, so they didn’t do anything and promissed to send me another appointment (which never happened). So I went the online renewal way…currently in the process.
Was it possible to do the online renewal? My daughter’s appointment was unable to go ahead in Dec due to the strike in Portugal and she only has been given an appointment in July. I would also prefer to go the online route.
Does anyone know a pattern email for the individual AIMA offices/“lojas”?
Or just any other working email for AIMA other than “geral”?
I want them to expedite the card issuance for me.
Tommy, the only thing that ever worked for me (and not always) is a registered, receipt-requested post. SEF in Lisbon responded, and AIMA in Funchal produced results. You might want to consider this option rather than e-mail route.
