882/892 has been stopped, any hope for accelerating our GV?

Yesterday, I was meant to submit my D7 application after 22 months waiting GV. Suddenly, came this news, AIMA ended up 882/892 visa. Any thoughts about this, will this policy help AIMA accelerate our GV approval? Seems like GV was never their priority. Who cares GV applicants after they’ve put money in…

Lower your expectations. Yet to come across one Portuguese institution whether government or sef or aima or judiciary or law firm which has any empathy towards GV applicants.

Even the new minister proposed another GV for investment in infra and programs aiding integration of immigrants (mainly asylum seekers) without even touching the current delay in GV processing. Apathy and lack of integrity.

Agree. They’re happy to have your investments. They’re happy to have your annual compulsory trips to Portugal (generates 10s of millions to the Portugal economy annually) but refuse to add sufficient perks al to process GV applications or GV renewals, or GV to passports. We GV folks resent the Portugese government. And we’re justified in feeling that way.

I don’t really need a perk, to me, the perk is the lower residency requirement. The problem is that we are considered bottom of the barrel with respect to the process. I just want it to be as timely as the other visas. Other than the proof of investment, is the information we give on the GV application that much different than the information required for the D7?
