Hi guys, this question is more for those that applied after the new GV process by AIMA.
This will serve as the updating thread to see if the 30-90day scheduling period (after submission of docs for biometric that AIMA mentioned) will be followed.
Hi guys, this question is more for those that applied after the new GV process by AIMA.
This will serve as the updating thread to see if the 30-90day scheduling period (after submission of docs for biometric that AIMA mentioned) will be followed.
To be clear, the email from AIMA states that biometric appointment will be between 30-90 days from notification of appointment. Not that the appointment will be 30 - 90 days or issued within that range from document submission.
Additionally, my lawyer mentioned that the new process only applies to existing applications and does not affect new submissions. I’m cautiously optimistic that the process will be faster for new applications. However, given the minimal progress with older applications, I think it’s unlikely that we’ll see any results within the 30-90 day range.
I came across this article, which mentions local news reports of AIMA not providing applicants the minimum 30-day notice, but instead scheduling some appointments only one or two days following the notification.
I see, because most articles that I see/read online, mentions the 30-90 day rule
That’s because many journalists are lazy, and just accept press releases as fact.
Had that writer bothered to do any research, they would have found after that AIMA announcement came out, another statement from their boss Leitão Amaro at the end of February said that GV/ARI investors are at the back of the queue, behind those already in PT and 220,000 CPLPs.
