So… confirmation that days after the “GV Backlog Recovery Support Unit” started work, it was diverted to help find those 18k+ irregular immigrants the government made a show of asking to leave in early May (in time for the elections)?
- Regarding resubmissions, only around 200 appointments were released for pending cases so far. The GV Backlog Recovery Support Unit (UARI) was “reallocated” by instructions from the Government, just in January, after the original notification sent to GV Investors, to assist with other types of pending applications (in particular Manifestações de Interesse) due to national security issues, which also lead to a reduction of the appointments capacity. The UARI team will resume work in July, when it is expected to start releasing appointments and dealing with pending issues under the terms that were expected to happen in the first half of this year;
