AIMA Appointment --> Did anyone manage to schedule appointment after uploading the documents again

Same situation and also 2021 applicant, no appointment yet. Unable to upload and our refreshed documents expired while waiting for unblocking, and we are still waiting.
Our status says ‘application accepted’.

Application went in Aug 2023
Sued/Injunction July 2024. (Was told recently it would fail, but did not get the direct failure itself.)
Resubmitted March 2025
Application updated to now say “Awaiting Analysis”
No biometrics yet. No response from my direct emails to AIMA either.

Good evening
Your status is “application accepted” while ours
Is " application under analysis ".
Did you check with your lawyer what it means. You should be very close to the finish line, inst it

All I know is that “Awaiting Analysis” is one step further, there may be more. Lawyers said at this point we do nothing other than wait for Biometrics still.

If no one is getting appointments, does this mean that they have stopped processing the applications?

My lawyer told me 2 weeks ago that they started getting some emails, but nothing yet for us.

We resubmitted our papers early February, is has been 4 months now
.

i don’t think ‘nobody is getting appointments’, its just taking longer than expected (again). this thread alone has multiple people on it that got their biometric appointments. its died down alot, but i imagin this thread is a small # of people compared to all those waiting/getting biometrics.

This update from Prime Legal provides a good explanation of why things seems to have moved so slowly to date and what the government plan and timeline is for the rest of the year for
ARI applicants.

This time for sure the modernization efforts will pay off

I mean, I sure hope so, but I am a touch skeptical, somehow

Great update. Why does Prime Legal know this staff and nobody else on this forum?

Not requiring repeated biometrics appointments for renewals is certainly a positive development.

With regards to the timeline of AIMA delivering anything promised, I’ll believe it when I see it.

So
confirmation that days after the “GV Backlog Recovery Support Unit” started work, it was diverted to help find those 18k+ irregular immigrants the government made a show of asking to leave in early May (in time for the elections)?

  1. Regarding resubmissions, only around 200 appointments were released for pending cases so far. The GV Backlog Recovery Support Unit (UARI) was “reallocated” by instructions from the Government, just in January, after the original notification sent to GV Investors, to assist with other types of pending applications (in particular ManifestaçÔes de Interesse) due to national security issues, which also lead to a reduction of the appointments capacity. The UARI team will resume work in July, when it is expected to start releasing appointments and dealing with pending issues under the terms that were expected to happen in the first half of this year;

I don’t understand point number 6 which cases are they referring to ? And what is the definition of very old

“6. Clients with processes still in Acceptance or Analysis stage that have not been opened, shall contact the General email for opening (in some cases they may go directly to scheduling if they are very old) and wait for feedback; ”

Looking at the “Plano de Recuperação de PendĂȘncias ARI” email that many of us got just after Christmas last year (translated excerpt below), I’m guessing “opening” in #6 means “placed in the ‘awaiting submission’ state, which allows documents in the application to be updated.”

To this end, the status of applications on the ARI portal that were in the “under analysis” state have been automatically placed in the “awaiting submission” state, which allows documents in the application to be updated. In addition, those in the “accepted” status will be moved to the “awaiting submission” status, thus allowing processes that have not yet been formalized to proceed as indicated below.

Recovery Unit will be launched in Jan 2026 to rescue what was already launched in Jan 2025. I am also expecting sth to rescue this unit in Jan 2027.
Same pattern keeps looping forever!

Are least they might solve the problem by only allowing citizenship applications 10 years after the first card.

Which might cause many people to abandon their applications, shortening the queue

“4. The priority for the second half of 2025 year, already defined by the Government, will be Golden Visas and Family Reunifications”

Hopefully this happens!

What change are you referring to? My understanding was GV can apply for citizenship after 5 years, which now started at date of initial application, not residency card in hand.

@Andrew77 The newly elected government is pursuing changes to the citizenship law. One of the changes would be to get rid of the backdating the citizenship clock to the application date. Another change would be to extend the time to 10 years. The effort is not specifically aimed at GV applicants - it appears to be a broad change to the citizenship law.

The law is a work in progress and subject to change. There are several threads on this on the board that can give you more updated information than my summary.

Hi
Cabinet approved today extension of residency period required from 5 to 10 years. Parliament will vote in few days. Any insight if we are impacted (especially that we didn’t do the biometrics) or the law does not apply retroactively. Any news from your lawyers
Thanks
