We have an email from our lawyers on the question whether family members can get biometrics done alongwith the primary applicant…
" < The family members will only be able to schedule appointments after the main applicant receives the residence card – according to AIMA. At the moment it is not possible, at all, to schedule appointments for the family members.>"
But that could be 6-8 months later?
Yes, assuming no further delays. This is consistent with what others who have recently completed their biometrics are reporting; Informed by their lawyers.
I got my card in 2022 added a baby in 2023 and still waiting for their biometrics to be scheduled.
I had my aapoimtment today at cascais at 12:30
Went there at 10 am , just in case and they told me that today because of easter they are closing at 12 pm. Tried to convince me to squeeze me in, they became agressive and almost called the police. So i m heading back to dubai now. I will sell the investment and buy somewhere else. This is so disrespectful that i can accept it.
Very disrespectful. Not sure you went on your own or with lawyer .If lawyer with you and he/she did not said anything then its a lawyer who has to take first blame.
Did anyone receive final approval after wave of biometric appointments between January 2026 to March 2026? If yes, then please share.
According to the GV Database here, 160+ people have had their biometrics appointments scheduled in this wave to yesterday, but none have reported receiving their residence card. The latest biometrics appointment to have received it is from June 2025.
(Side-note: technically, the status previously referred to as “final approval” now happens at the biometrics appointment.)
I’ve asked @tkrunning to try clear up that confusion, because it is indeed polluting the stats. Doing the analysis you just did above requires manually removing people who are defo not at any “Final” stage yet.
Probably I need to remove the final approval question for those that had biometrics after Jan 15, 2025.
I guess now there’s just biometrics/payment in one step, then there’s no information about any final approval, followed by eventual card receipt. And then there’s the issue date printed on the card, which you only know once you have received it.
Yes, I think AIMA stated at one point that biometrics was supposed to also be final approval, however I’m not sure if that’s the case in practice.
Any news about the biometric appointments for family did they start scheduling?

That’s better mate than never. Could you please say when that came through and when your biometric allotment was?

my wife and my son have appointment schedule in Jan 2027.
In practice, under the new process, the approval process will begin after biometrics. Cards will be issued upon approval, and the card production fee will be refunded if the application is rejected.
It came this week and I done my Bio in March.
