Congratulations! Do you have any dependents? If yes, where you able to update and upload their documents? Are you all together on the same day?

Hello. Great news. When did you refresh your documents? Is it a main investor plus spouse/dependents or just main? How were you informed that you received an appointment? Was it an email from AIMA with the details?

Hello all. I’m hoping I can find someone facing the same issue as us. We’ve handed over all our updated and certified documents. However, our bank is refusing to grant my lawyers a letter that shows that 400k passed through my account without me being in portugal to sign in person. My lawyers say it’s nonsense. Anyone facing a similar issue?

I was able to get a letter from my bank within 48 hours (it could have been shorter) of my request via email (technically, a secure message system used by the bank).

My family just received biometrics appointments for June 20 in Lisbon - spouse and 2 dependents. I received my residence card March 2024 (and had my biometrics appt in August 2023). We originally applied September 2021.

You got your residency card before your biometrics? I thought it was the other way around. Am I wrong? Thanks!

No. Apologies. My biometrics appt was August 2023, received residency card March 2024. My family (spouse, two children), just received their biometrics appointment for June 2025. We all applied in September 2021. I was the primary. I just edited comment above for clarity.

Congratulation  ) . When did you submitted your refresh documents (Jan or Feb 2025 ?) . Any dependent documents you managed to upload ?

Which bank if you don’t mind me asking?

I experienced a different, possibly more frustrating issue, with my bank (Millennium BCP). As I had originally gotten residency as a D7, Millennium was unaware of my GV application, so when 500k EUR hit my account, it triggered a review of my account and got sent to their compliance account. I wound up having to wait a year to get my letter from them. In the end, it didn’t really matter because AIMA is so slow, but it was extremely frustrating.

To answer your question, though, you shouldn’t need to be physically present for them to issue this letter. I agree with your lawyers that that sounds bogus.

Thanks. May I ask what your letter stated and did you write it?

It’s Santander. My options are to sign in person, which it not possible or to have the local Portuguese Embassy certify my signature. As you can imagine, getting an appointment with the embassy is a task in itself. My police clearance has a month left to run.

The appt is for main investor and spouse. We have no dependents. Only uploaded our newly apostilled documents about a month ago. Both same place, time and day. Got an email from my lawyer.

Thanks Clare for reply.

I am not sure how your lower managed to upload the document for spouse as my lawyer says there is no way to upload the document for spouse unless your documents are clear AIMA.

Only couple of people saying their lawyer managed upload the document for spouse or dependant.

Thanks

There seems to be biometric appointments rolling in daily. Just by comments on other threads, i magine there are much more who aren’t posting here. Anyone has any latest updates from their lawyers on the current pace / progress?

When my refreshed documents were submitted last week, my lawyers said that they were skeptical AIMA would be able to meet its own 30-90 day deadline.

That being said, some of the comments here have been giving me hope…

Our lawyers have advised that AIMA has informed them directly that they have started scheduling appointments. This information is validated by some of the forum members having received appointments for June.
The lawyers also stated that they have not been able to upload documents of family members, but that AIMA confirms that family members will also get the same appointment, and that there are mechanisms in place to share with AIMA, by email the documents of the family members which AIMA is verifying with originals at the time of biometrics appointment. This is to not having to spend additional time scanning documents at the time of biometrics appointment and to use that time for other appointments.

What about cases where the primary applicant already did their biometrics appointment but family members have not? In that case it seems there has been no notification to refresh docs, nor any mechanism to refresh docs for the family members?
