Once document submitted , 90 days validity is no more applicable. In case of Family possibly we all end up doing the circus of getting Apostille again.
Wait so to confirm my understanding: during the wait time from submission to appointment, if exceeding 90 days, the Apostille will need to be redone? Because if this is the case, my lawyer told me incorrect info
Jumping on the thread here. My resubmission went in today March 15, 2025.
Original submission Aug 2023.
I did the suing AIMA option in July 2024. Probably a wash with the new system now.
I will let y’all know when I receive biometrics.
During the wait time from submission to appointment, if exceeding 90 days, the Apostille will need to be redone? -->> NO. you do not need to redo the Apostille
thank you thank you! i understand now!
Of course, this is all subject to new determinations by AIMA. In a few months, it is my understanding, it could decide that documents need to be re-Apostilled.
AIMA will might come up with new rules you never know. The biggest issue is no one knows how AIMA choose which application needs to be processed . It is lucky dip for that we paid good money :).
My lawyers told me that the new biometric appointments are seemingly coming out “chronologically”, but I am unclear whether that means by original application date, or by re-submission date.
Anybody got any insight?
Only one person from this board, to my knowledge, has received an appointment under the new system. They applied in November 2022 and resubmitted on March 10th.
It’s only one data point, so it is nothing we can draw a pattern from. I applied after that person but resubmitted before they did. So, if that ONE DATA POINT holds, it would appear that “chronologically” is initial application. Again, there’s no pattern to be had here, but we should keep this in mind if more data points appear. I am rather strident here because I believe people are trying to read the tea leaves and should not presume anything based on isolated incidents.
Please also keep in mind that the priorities for processing applications seems to have shifted away from GVs and to other types of applicants.
Agreed, not enough data points yet. I assume you’re correct with initial application date, but we’ll see.
I’m not too familiar with the overall shift away from GV to other types - how significant delay has that seemed to create? Thanks.

I make no representations about the information in the article or about whether it is current. I have seen several things abruptly change during my process.
Thanks. I’m interested to see what the new “Before June” promise from AIMA ends up looking like. Our lawyers told us this would be a loooooong process before we signed up, so we are happy to patiently wait. The fact that the citizenship clock started ticking already makes up for all the delays to me. Good luck to us all!
From my lawyers today:
“AIMA has indicated that they will set dates in the first six months of the year. However, we are still assessing their response to the automatization and are not confident they will adhere to their own timelines.”
Tell us about it lmao
Good news to share! Original submission was January 2023. Resubmitted updated documents on January 24th. Just got notified of Biometrics in June of 2025!
Congrats; could you please advise when you submitted your refreshed documents and did you file a lawsuit ?
Congrats! More data points for the rest of us too
Congratulations Christopher.
Congrats! Did you have depends ? Did they get an appointment as well?
I do have dependents and we were all scheduled the same day in the same place. However, after review it was scheduled on a bank holiday (good work on that one AIMA) so now I’m waiting to hear how they’ll reschedule it since the office will be closed.
