AIMA Portal Error : Updating Dependants' Docs

Hello everyone, I’m the main applicant and did not receive initial approval yet. As per AIMA initiative last January, we prepared our family’s updated documents but only the main applicant’s documents were uploaded to the portal due to a portal error. After waiting for many months the dependants’ documents are now expired. I am worried my dependants will be excluded from the biometric appointment if I receive one.

Has anyone else encountered this situation?
Has anyone been able to overcome this error? The only solution I heard so far is to attach and upload the dependants’ documents together with the main’s which is not possible now.
Has anyone contacted AIMA for a possible solution?
I’d appreciate your input.

Some people, if i recall correctly, submitted their dependant documents as part of their resubmission. I don’t knon the mechanics of doing this, but I belive it worked for a few (not enough data to confitm).

My husband is the main applicant and I’m the only dependent. Our attorney eventually submitted updated documents for both us of under my husband in the portal.

We obtained our updated background checks in April but our attorneys couldn’t submit anything until July because the portal was accidentally closed for us back in January. Our attorneys emailed weekly requesting the portal be re-opened. They also went to an AIMA office in Lisbon in person but couldn’t get assistance. In order to ensure our documents remained valid and our application remained active, our attorneys also sent an official letter to AIMA explaining the situation and requesting proof of receipt of the letter by AIMA. They felt it was important to have confirmation of their requests to AIMA in writing in case they needed it in the future.

Maybe you could try sending an official letter to AIMA explaing the situation and requesting proof they received it?

Thank you for your reply. Do you mind sharing your lawyer’s contact details?

TBH, it’s not the main lawyer doing the work. It’s one of the associates. The main lawyer is not very good at responding and I wouldn’t recommend him at this point.
