We received the email but can’t submit on portal!
As per the meeting between AIMA and lawyers AIMA Confirmed that within 4 weeks maximum from the date of resubmitting the applicant shall have appointment
…and some thought that AIMA was actually getting to grips with the situation.
Instead, all that has happened is that we have all rushed around getting replacement documents that do not differ from those previously submitted.
And the band plays on…
Task force to address the failings of this task force is due shortly
Por favor, aguarde.
I think it should be at LEAST rather than at most 4 weeks cuz it was said that the biometric appointment date will range from 30 to 90 days .
Where is this information from?
Yes, biometrics will be 30-90 from the date of the notification. It does not say how soon the notification will come after you resubmit your documents.
mine has been 4 weeks today…no appointment assigned yet…
- Notifications for biometric appointments are expected to begin on January 15, 2025.
- Appointments will start approximately 30 days after notifications.
For me,it will be late Feb cuz I re-submitted the docs in late Jan.
The biometrics date should be confirmed before notification, otherwise what is the notification?
Just looking forward to those who re-submitted right after Jan 15 can share their notifications for bio.
Charles, I have a different view of the language. My reading is that under the new scheme, AIMA notifies you of your upcoming biometric appointment. That notice is the “notification” you referenced will contain the date of your appointment, which will be a minimum of 30 days from the date of notification up to a maximum of 90 days from the notification.
It is unclear whether you will be able to select particular dates and/or locations but, if my reading is correct, you likely won’t be. Again, this is my reading. Even if I am correct, it is all subject to change (e.g. notifications were supposed to start on Jan 15th but, as of today, I am unaware of anyone on this board who has received an appointment).
agree with you…but there is a gossip around that is saying smth like “AIMA haven’t reached enough number of updated profiles to give appointments”…doesnt sound logical to me.
That rumor doesn’t seem to fit with other information posted on this board. A few have reported that the portal, starting sometime around February 5th or 7th, was locked to new documents. Others report that they never received the email from AIMA to resubmit. While it is hard to draw any firm conclusions about what is going on from a few scattered reports (there could be hundreds of reasons an email wasn’t received or the portal was inaccessible), these seem to point away from what the rumor is claiming.
Rumors are about as useful as reading tea leaves. As much as I hate to admit it, we’ll just have to wait and see.
Portugal Golden Visa: No more delays as digital system takes over
Gotta’ love the forever-optimistic/deluded PT GV sales folk. So far from the reality of this SNAFU
We’re over a month into the ‘new AIMA process,’ and reading this thread closely I don’t see much success with it… unless you were lucky enough to already have Biometrics scheduled for Jan. 2025 (via the old process/lawsuit) and thus were able to pay on the day in the new process.
Meanwhile the lawsuit route is totally bogged-down now too:
I think the only practical solution is for atleast a 1000 GV applicants to land in Portugal and protest outside the ministry till biometric taken and card issued. While we are at it, we may as well put forward the demand of affordable housing for all GV applicants in form of 3 bedroom apartments as penance from Portuguese government for it’s wrongdoings (let contributions come from AIMA employees, our lawyers, courts of Lisbon and the GV marketers).
Civilized way of dealing with this backlog is only causing us infinite delay, heart ache and monetary loss. For once cheap tactics need to be applied. Gotham (read Lisbon) needs to be brought to a stand still.
And they said that staring from 15 of Jan they will start give appointment , did you hear about any appointment given since 15 of Jan ?
none so far
never heard of that
Re: Portugal Golden Visa: No more delays as digital system takes over
Certain observers will note that all of the documents were already submitted in digital form on the old ari.sef.pt site, which is still in operation, and even in active use. If SEF and AIMA chose to process the files in paper form, it’s not for lack of access to the certified documents in digital form.
5 more months to go. For AIMA to abandon our ARI applications and make it’s backlog 0.
