Awaiting Final Approval (Stage 4)

Bio in Lisbon.

Already did that :expressionless:

…appeal was ā€˜accepted’ last September but we’ve still heard nothing about a ruling. No point throwing another lawsuit on the pile of 50,000 backlogged (one of them being ours).

DUC paid on 10th of April 2025 for dependants and still waiting for the cards.

I’m at 3.5 months now since paying DUC. My lawyer still claims the payment was successful and that cards for most applicants are taking at least this long.

Thinking about canceling my summer trip…

Any Jan 2023 bios in Lisbon got final approval recently? Mine almost 28 months, no news till now.

Post Jan Lisbon bios are being approved now

Daisy- I am in the same situation as you. Jan 2023 bios in Lisbon, file transferred to Madeira; I have heard nothing since.

How do you know it’s been transfered to Madeira? My lawyers aren’t able to tell me where my file is currently being processed, and I submitted bios at Lisbon on Jan 23, 2023.

Totally no idea about what happened to us.

Just sharing a quick update on my Golden Visa process in case it’s helpful to others tracking similar timelines.

I completed my biometrics in Lisbon on 31 January 2023, and my file was subsequently transferred to the Madeira AIMA office. Since then, there has been no meaningful progress or communication regarding next steps.

Here’s what my law firm shared most recently:

ā€œUnfortunately, there have been no significant developments since our last update.
We remain in regular contact with AIMA regarding your case, but they are currently experiencing considerable delays.
This is not an isolated situation, and many cases are being affected by these extended timelines.
Please rest assured that we are actively monitoring the situation and will inform you immediately of any changes or progress.ā€

It’s now been over 28 months since biometrics, and the lack of visibility or any defined timeline continues to be very frustrating.

January 23 lisbon biometrics as well and no card received yet

If still no card in hand after the summer, perhaps some 2021 applicants would consider talking to the press?

We’ve recently seen some encouraging movement — two applicants who completed their biometrics on 27 and 26 January 2023 (users raivikas and chetiansunny) received their approvals on 16 and 24 April, respectively.

These cases specifically relate to biometrics done in Lisbon in January 2023, whose files were later transferred to the Madeira AIMA office

Given that, I believe those with biometric appointments earlier than these dates may hopefully start seeing approvals this month.

So far in May, there’s only been one known approval, and that was a case involving a legal challenge. Hoping this is just the beginning of a broader wave of updates.

I don’t know if mine was transferred anywhere, lawyer didn’t tell me and I didn’t ask

We had done biometrics in Jan 2023 in Lisbon and yesterday my status changed to ā€œtransferredā€. I thought this is ā€œfinal approvalā€ and asked my lawyer if they have received any approval email but she told me ā€œ(transferred) does not mean final approvalā€. What are your thoughts ?

Yes, it does.

It should mean you’re in the home stretch. If I recall correctly, about 5 weeks after I first noticed the status change on the AIMA to ā€œTransferido SIISEFā€, our lawyer recieved the approval email. This is consistent with others data points on this thead. :crossed_fingers:
