I find it very hard to open a business account for my newly formed Seychelles company, that operates in the semi adult field. The fact that I’m an EU citizen residing in Thailand doesn’t make things easier. Does anyone have any suggestion? Has to be done remotely.
First, I would recommend incorporating in a more reputable jurisdiction.
Alternatively, you could have the Seychelles company open a US LLC as a subsidiary. Profits would flow to the Seychelles entity.
Although, I’m not sure it’s easy to open a bank account for a US LLC in your industry either, especially remotely. My personal go-to (Mercury), state that:
We can accept most U.S. companies that aren’t money services businesses or involved with adult entertainment, cannabis or internet gambling.
By the way, what’s your reason for opening the company in the Seychelles to begin with? If it’s being operated out of Thailand it would be liable for corporate tax there anyway.
I have a US LLC but I found it impossible to secure payment processing without an SSID (I’m not a US resident). Reasons for Seychelles is anonymity for personal reasons, not taxes. Same reason I registered the LLC in Wyoming.
Currenxie will not even let you create a bank account in your own name. For instance they’ll offer IBAN details in the EU locality but still call them “virtual accounts”… i.e. it’s not a real bank account, and won’t work for transfers that have to be received in an individual’s or business’s name:
They’re vague on this last issue of course, but their failure to provide IBANs in Europe (a common characteristic of “cheap” EMIs) is well known & reported more clearly here:
… though if you or anyone else has information to the contrary — about them providing individually named accounts — please post a link confirming this.
