D7 visa and Taxation in Portugal

Hi,

We are Canadian citizens applying for D7 visa. We have active income from remote job and passive income from rental. We were wondering if we would qualify for NHR taxation and pay taxes at the rate of 20% on active and passive income. Or do we pay taxes in Canada and no taxes in Portugal?

You will pay taxes in Portugal under the D7. If you apply for the NHR, you will get advantaged rates on certain types of income. Pensions, remote work, capital gains are all treated differently.
