Dear friends,
I will be inviting family ] parents] for a short 1 month stay. I have filled the newer AIM modelo-4 Termo do responsabilidade [ hope we don’t need the older pdf ]
My questions are:
Whose signature is needed at the bottom of the form? the inviter [me] or the invitee[people who intend to visit PT] ?
Does this need notarization from Portugal?
Any other invitation letters needed besides modelo-4?
I have done one recently, and here are my responses:
Whose signature is needed at the bottom of the form? the inviter
Does this need notarization from Portugal? Yes. AIMA requires the notarization for it to be valid.
Any other invitation letters needed besides modelo-4? No. This is the more official supporting document. A letter which may not be fully qualified is not needed.
Any other docs needing notarization? The inviter’s identification and signature in front of the Notary.
Do I select Passport in the first section of 4 check boxes and fill in the details and then for the lower box enter my Portuguese Residence details OR something else?
A scanned copy (with the Notary seal) is accepted by the border agent. Yes - the inviter’s passport and resident permit are needed. This form is valid for the period of the inviter’s IDs.
