Getting appointment at Portugal Embassy in Abu Dhabi for Certification

Does anyone know how to secure an appointment for document certification at the Portugese embassy in Abu Dhabi? There is no available slot till May (which is the furtherest the calender goes to) and I have been checking constantly and nothing shows up. Any ideas/tricks?

Hello, the only way to do this is via getting slot via https://agendamentos.mne.gov.pt/en/login. then consular post , pick AD. looks like you have done this. They release dates randomly , unfortunately check various dates and times including weekend …

I had to check their website daily for two weeks to finally get a slot to certify my documents. To my best recollection, they used to release slots every Tuesday afternoon. Wishing you much patience!

Thank you guys.

Keep the website open and check every hour. Appointment slots show up randomly.

Please keep an eye on the calendar every morning (without missing any weekdays, except Saturday and Sunday).

Also, a May 2026 calendar does not necessarily mean it will only be scheduled after May. Once slots open, you may be able to secure an appointment as early as March

For the criminal record, MOI UAE provides a digitally attested document and sends this on email (both the criminal record and then the attested version) Would the embassy attest this document if we just print and take it to embassy? Or did you find a way to get a physically signed stamped document? (Assuming if we can get an appointment)

Yes you can get the physical attested MOFA document. Use the MOFA app and choose pick and drop service. Give the courier a print copy of the PCC and it will come back in 3 days with the original MOFA stamp.

Update: still no luck with appointment. Been checking the website day and night :frowning: it is the only thing that is left for my nationality application when my 5 years complete end of April this year. Race is to get the citizenship application through before the new nationality law comes into effect.

Sorry not relevant question, but I have biometric appointment and need to apply for visa to Portugal and I reside in UAE.

Should it be tourism or business visa? Anyone did this before?

Thanks,

You can also write to the Notary section of the Consulate. Forward supporting documentation proving said urgency, notably proof of scheduling with AIMA, in order to seek an exception / urgent appointment.
