So has anybody actually received the citizenship here?
Why would someone that already has their passport bother posting here
so is this forum just to complain? I would hope people would share success stories as well?
Some people sure think it is. I don’t think that’s helpful personally. The biggest use of the forum is tracking news and updates from fellow GV applicants
Yes I know few who have received their citizenship via the GV - and I’ve submitted mine, which is now in midway by all means… In practice if you wait long enough (around 2 years or even more ) the expectation is the citizenship application will eventually be approved. If you google the statistics, you should be able to find the number of applications + approved applications for citizenship for the last years. I think in 2022, the approval rate was somewhere around 98% (ca 62900 out 64000 getting approved) So hopefully that should give you some peace of mind. Statistically there will be always that 1-2% with missing documents, applying too early etc…
Does anyone know (or can guess) how many times one should expect to procure and provide fresh documents (complete with notarisation etc.) from the beginning to end i.e. upto getting your Portguese passports?
I have already provided twice for me and the family in the last 4 years. I am now at the stage where I’ve paid for my GV card and waiting to do so for family.
There are two types of poster here: If you arent complaining about the GV process, youre constantly complaining about the people complaining about the GV process.
Pick the one that sounds most suitable to you!
No, there are third ones: those who share their real experiences they acquired over the process. You might want to filter out those who are just complaining from those who provide actual information.
The Institute of Registries and Notaries (IRN) is launching a new online platform to speed up procedures for granting nationality, with automation and digitalisation of documents.
Love to see it
Yes, but who is writing and implementing it…
