Is any one aware of any tax return filing or any other obligations from a taxation perspective in Portugal for non-resident investors in a GV Fund? The GV fund has paid dividends and the bank has even withheld taxes (10%) on these dividends. Other than this, as a non-resident investor does one need to file any returns or pay any additional taxes in Portugal?
If you’re not a tax resident of Portugal, you don’t pay tax on a FCR - it’s an explicit carve-out. If you have permanent footprint in country it’s different.
You do I believe have to file an information return even if it is $0. Most lawyers have some arrangement with someone to do this for you for a few bucks; I imagine NIFOnline/bordr know someone as well.
