this is what I want to know, what is the response to this ruling? all we have is speculation, if the parliament gives up we are back to square one (which is frankly better than limbo in the short/medium term)

I wonder why the lawyers decided to post this petition on peticaopublica but not on the Assembly website for petitions?

I asked the same question. The official Parliament petition site requires a valid resident or citizen card number. They wanted to keep the petition accessible to applicants awaiting cards.
That is a great question but every lawyer seems to say no, the 5 years residence is the one thing that must be fulfilled at the time of application…

Looks like I’ll sit that one out. Not gonna share my passport number on a random website for an online petition. Perhaps when I’m holding two passports I’ll be more carefree..

You can use your NIF in that field, or write “awaiting”, or whatever you like.
I asked Catarina why that site vs the official one.
I signed that one with my NIF, but as others have said, put whatever
I have previously signed the official petition site with just my NIF IIRC. Maybe passport number?
The response I got from AGPC, tl;dr they think the platform is easier and plan to transfer the signatures once they get close to the limit-
We would like to inform you that we will initially collect signatures through an external portal, as it is more intuitive and user-friendly. This platform does not require prior registration to sign and does not impose any limitation on the period during which the petition can remain open for signature collection.
Once we reach a significant number of signatures — typically between 4,500 and 7,500 — we will then submit the petition to the Parliament’s official portal, including the signatures already collected externally. After submission, the petition will remain open for a few additional days on the Parliament’s portal to allow further signatures to be gathered there as well.
This is a common and well-established strategy in such cases and helps maximize participation and efficiency.
We count on your signature and would kindly ask you to share the petition with your contacts to help increase its reach.

I suppose you had your passport scanned and emailed at least once in a lifetime before, perhaps to your lawyer in PT? So it’s already out there in public domain in full colour with your photo and all 
Probably chewed and dissected tons of times by the LLMs.
While you are deliberating if a mere number on peticaopublica with no other detail at all may be leaked and abused?..

Yay we have 127 signatures now, 2% of the way there, after making the rounds in the nomadgate and whatsapp ari communities, plus the email list of AGPC.
I’m hoping this petition gets some traction among the other kinds of residents too. If anyone participates in D7 communities and such, feel free to spread the word.
If you’re feeling super motivated, print out invitations on paper and hand them out to the people queued up in line outside most AIMA offices every morning.
