Did you or your lawyer use any of the AIMA portals to get your appointment?

Do you have to physically go to your appointment or can you make a POA so your lawyer can go on your behalf?

Prime applicant visa expired in Jan 25. Didnā€™t use lawyer. Used portal to request an appointment in June. Didnā€™t submit a POA - submitted a doc that said Iā€™d do it myself

My GV expired in June 2024. My lawyer applied on the portal on July 1 2025 and my appointment is on Sep. 22 '25. My lawyer can show up and complete the renewal. Iā€™ve been asked to submit a new criminal record and a 14 day proof of stay in Portugal.
The portal doesnā€™t yet work for my dependents.

my appointment for GV renewal came the day before yesterday through email i registered on contactenos form on AIMA, so this may suggest appointments come from your registration with AIMA through contactenos.aima.gov.pt

Which ā€˜portalā€™ was it? ā€˜Contactenosā€™ form, or ā€˜renovacoes-portalā€™ (the latter was announced by AIMA on July 11th).

I used this form : https://contactenos.aima.gov.pt/contact-form. I got appointment yesterday for October.

There is a report of an email being received yesterday for someone with an October 2023 expiration, setting an appointment for Monday.

EDIT: and now one for December 2024. Real progress.

Hello everyone, I requested appointments for a group I represent for renewal of GVP/ARI residency cards that expired in Jan 2025 and have received appointments for Principal Investor only in October. The problem is that they are for different people that I represent (hold POA) and most of the appointments are for the same day in October but in many different points of Portugal. Although the new portal has a place to schedule appointments it does not function. So:

-Does anyone know how to reschedule appointments on the portal?
-If only the main applicants name is on the email is the appointment only for him or for the entire family
-If only for main applicant, How do you ask for appointment for family members?

Grateful for any feedback.

Hey I got an email also, with an appointment date. However, it didnā€™t specify any documents to bring to the appointment. I live in Portugal full time. Do you know if we still have to submit background report from country of origin?

The email says that itā€™s possible to reschedule but I tried almost every link and no luck. Iā€™m thinking of just resubmitting the request.

At the moment, I think it depends, so I have been told. For the primary applicant (the holder of the investment), it is country of origin or Portugal. For the hangers on, it is country of origin and Portugal.

Gotten mine (primary applicant) - First week of November. Unable to schedule for the dependant yet. Applied last week.

This is the exact text on the email:

You have an appointment with AIMA (Agency for Integration, Migration and Asylum) on xx de novembro de 2025 - 09:30 in Loja AIMA - xxxxx.

Furthermore, please be informed that for the purposes of the application for renewal of the residence permit for investment activity that you hold, considering that the biometric data was collected less than 10 years ago (adults)/5 years ago (minors) and that no subsequent doubts have been raised as to your identity, you may, if you wish, formalize the application at the aforementioned AIMA Agency through a legal representative, provided with a mandate with special powers for the act, and you are therefore exempt from appearing in person at this stage.

In Portal AIMA client area (MySEF) you may change or cancel your appointment (function available for renewal of the Residence Permit/Card and the Extension of Stay). For appointments made in SAPA Portal or ARI Portal, you may change or cancel your appointment in that area.

Has anyone gotten their email notification today? Just seeing a lot of people of aima FB groups receiving email notifications for renewal today.

Was wondering if GV renewals were in the same timeline as everyone else.

Good evening! Can someone please clarify: For the main applicant if you live in Portugal full time for the last 5 years, Do you need the police record from country of origin for renewal or not?
