i wan to apply for the golden visa . Can i apply for NIF number and open a bank account on my own? Can someone suggest their experience or some tips or resource/link to do this on your own. I would also like to know which bank is the most suitable and convienent to open an account for foreigners?

First of all: you have Millenium Bank or Santander are good options. You can open by yourself or a Lawyer can start this process for you. Also: you NEED a NIF to open a bank account so Millenium can open a temporary one.
