AIMA Appointment --> Did anyone manage to schedule appointment after uploading the documents again

Isn’t it way to get more money through litigation and not give justice through normal procedure. Procedural injustice

Resubmitted my application 2nd week of March 2025, no reply of any sort yet.

There was a post a few weeks ago on this forum with some leaked KPI numbers AIMA supposedly circulated internally. In it, AIMA was only targeting clearing 30% of the GV backlog in 2025.

I believe it more now.

You mean the following… I asked around (off this board) if it was legit, but nobody got back to me. As I said back in May: It is digitally signed, but is it really AIMA’s current plan?

Yes, this is the one!

I guess we don’t know if it’s really AIMA’s current plan, since the “current plan” appears to change every 2-3 months  (e.g. between the Jan 2025 AIMA call with the lawyers, and March 25th, assuming the document is authentic)

My family and I had our biometrics appointment. I am sorry for not sharing that we received an appointment date earlier, but I’ve been holding my breath since I received it. I could literally imagine every possible thing that could go wrong (e.g. getting sick, flight cancelation, power outage, etc. - you name it and I’ve worried about it). Our timeline is as follows:

March 2023 - Applied
Fourth week of January 2025 - Resubmitted documents
March 2025 - Biometrics appointment scheduled
July 2025 - Biometrics appointment

To anticipate a few questions, we did not file a lawsuit. Also, we were represented by attorneys, who have been with us since the beginning. They confirmed what we already suspected: we were very, very lucky to receive this appointment.

Prior to the appointment, my lawyers asked that I refresh my documents. If I recall correctly, they primarily asked for me to refresh our background checks and proof that our children were dependents (proof of school enrollment). I responded by basically refreshing everything, from investment declarations to vital documents. I consider the appointment too precious to leave to chance. For what it’s worth, I have no idea whether the extra refreshed documents made any difference. All I can say is it made me feel like I had done everything possible I could do to facilitate the process.

The appointment at AIMA was exceptionally smooth. We showed up about 10 minutes before our appointment time and we’re met by our attorney. AIMA let us in on time and we sat in a waiting room. Our lawyer went up and got assigned to a desk/AIMA official, which is in the adjacent room. He spent maybe 20 to 30 minutes, maximum, with the official. We were all called back as a family. The official was exceptionally professional, efficient, and kind toward all of us. Each of us stood before a kiosk that took our picture, fingerprints, and signatures. I signed a few paper documents as well but don’t recall the specific nature of them. After that, I was presented with a POS terminal and asked whether I wanted to pay for all at once or in separate transactions. I used a Spanish debit card, using separate transactions, which worked fine other than the bank thinking they were duplicate transactions. After the first payment, it would deny the second charge. All I needed to do was charge it again and it would go through. Rinse and repeat the process and we were done. The AIMA official was completely unfazed by this and was happy to help. Our lawyer stayed behind to collect some receipts and papers, but our work was done. Time from start to finish was about 75 minutes. If it wasn’t for my own excitement at completing this phase, it would have been boring. I say that as a compliment to AIMA, since there shouldn’t be drama or surprises. I am very appreciative of both the people at AIMA who helped us and my lawyer.

We will see what happens next. I will update when I hear anything.

Congratulations! And thank you for the detail on your experience.

Where did your biometrics take place?

We also applied in March 2023. No lawsuit. Our portal was opened in Dec 2024, accidentally closed in Jan 2025. We obtained updated documents in Feb, while we waited for the portal to be reopened. That happened in June 2025, and our updated documents were submitted on July 4, 2025.

I’m not holding my breath, but I’m optimistic your experience demonstrates the ball is starting to roll and things are starting to move forward.

The question is did Aima resume processing golden visa applications in July as planned

How much did your lawyers charge for this?

Congratulations and thanks for the detailed update.
We are a few months behind you in the queue - Applied in June 2023 and resubmitted documents in Feb 2025.
No lawsuit done, and no word from AIMA about biometrics appointments.
Just curious - why did your lawyer feel that you were very lucky to get the appointment?

@ajohri2020 AJ - I may have read “lucky” into my attorney’s statements. Like any good attorney, they did not disclose anything specific about other clients who are applying for GV.

@frond-exiles-0q Frond - no idea yet.

We began our journey in November 2022 when we submitted all docs along with the property purchase. In April 2025, we re submitted all docs and our lawyer also said the same - a few lucky investors have got the biometrics appointment. finger crossed we are still waiting for the call. Hopefully :slightly_smiling_face:

My lawyer told me last week that only 10-15% of her firm’s clients who refreshed documents received biometrics appointments in 1H of 2025 (including those notified by June 30th of appointments in July or later). So if you’ve been notified, it was definitely pretty lucky!

Doesn’t seem like it. This place is rather quiet.

Well not surprised. According to my lawyer no appointment for any of his client so far and he don’t see anything is happening any soon. In terms of filing law suit he told me you will waste the money.

So even law suits are not recommended, what to do now ?

My application officially went in 2 years ago today.
We did the lawsuit option Mid 2024.
Still heard absolutely nothing from AIMA.

Can you elaborate what you did? Did you win the lawsuit or not?

I believe @Andrew77 previously stated that he lost the fight fir an injunction.
