AIMA Appointment --> Did anyone manage to schedule appointment after uploading the documents again

I think it’s still “pending” technically, but our lawyer told us that if we are not residing in Portugal currently (we are not) it’s a lost cause and will likely fail.

Not helpful. Based on what?

You are so lucky. Instead, my lawyer told me they are quite professional in lawsuits and highly recommend themselves if I want to do so.
More luckily,I didn’t.

That’s a good lawyer right there.

Submitted my application in mar 2023, no reply. Resubmitted docs in 1st week of march 2025. As there were no appointments available in my region for embassy Attestation for police certificate until mid February.

Good that you re-submitted the docs in January itself - as I submitted our docs in April and still awaiting

It looks like AIMA has completely forgotten about the GV again… this after they made a statement saying they will prioritize the GV starting august.

It was just the regularly scheduled announcement that

“The backlog, which is longer than ever, is about to be solved”

This is getting ridiculous by day. No wonder why the country is declining economically into abyss. So much wasted potential, ruined by incompetence

Where did you get this information? I heard it is the opposite.

I’m no economist but anecdotal data of locals moving away, top market cap companies being utilities, commodities, grocery chains, the economic growth resulting from real estate boom and tourism sector do not scream a sustainable booming economy. I’d still bet on a declining economy if the same trend continues, but that’s just my bet - i haven’t researched on hard data.

I wouldn’t put much credit in a mag I’ve never heard of, that nearly immediately says some pretty sus stuff about the EU, and is described as so on wikipedia

McManus further wrote that “Compact’s ambition is to argue for a strong social democratic state that also resists libertine ideologies and upholds local, national, familial, and religious communities.”[6] Stephanie Slade, writing in Reason , describes it as the new home of post-liberalism, whose editors espouse “intense religious conservatism [with] a whiff of socialism”. Slade wrote: “By bringing a ‘labor populism’ with deep roots in the socialist tradition and a ‘political Catholicism’ that questions the very separation of church and state under a single roof, Compact has built an intellectual meeting place not just for post-liberal conservatives but for anti-liberals of every stripe.”[

The article itself is light on sourcing and pretty incoherent.

While maybe the economy in PT isn’t amazing (certainly housing is a major issue!) it’s still doing relatively well

Economies are like being chased by a bear, you don’t have to be first, just don’t be last.

In January, we received an email from our lawyer explaining that our old documents, which were submitted in November 2022, are no longer valid, especially PCCs and other family documents. They directed us to obtain new documents from both our resident country and the country of origin. Indeed, it was again a huge time-consuming process with significant effort plus money. At that time, we were informed that if we apply before the end of June, AIMA’s timeline would be: notification email within 30 days of submission, and an appointment within 90 days as per AIMA announcements.

We gathered new documents and, after receiving the necessary approvals from both countries, our lawyers resubmitted everything. Since resubmission, our lawyer has regularly informed us that our applications are still under process. To date, only a few clients have received appointments, as per our lawyer.

Currently, we have no option except to wait. However, we are increasingly concerned by the ongoing delays, especially since it has now been three years since we made our significant investment in Portugal’s GV.

I appreciate our lawyer’s prompt response and firmly believe that if the AIMA can work out a solution and put an end to this long wait time.

We are in the exact boat as you, except we applied in Dec 2022. We resubmitted all of our new apostille documents as soon as we received them back (after more time, more money obtaining them) but have heard nothing.

Dears, i have seen some new changes in my dependents status, if i switch in Portuguese it shows “Aguarda Marcação” , But if i switch back to English status disappears , do you guys have any experience or any idea what is coming ?

And if you did not do this procedure by the end of June, AIMA would treat your application as ‘Abandoned’!
We are all sailing in the same boat.
Our timeline - Application June 2023
Refreshed Docs Feb 2025
No lawsuit filed
No word from AIMA

I also refreshed my Documents in May. Got a pre-approval but I have not yet received a biometrics appointment.

Received appointment for my 3 dependents for Nov , even after 1 Dependent DUC payment issue.

Did you already have your appointment? When did you apply?
