My main GV application was submitted over a month ago and has a process number. However, AIMA’s system is not allowing our lawyer to conclude my husband’s (dependent) submission due to payment not yet updating. Has anyone experienced something similar recently?
My lawyer said I should just wait, but I am a little nervous.
I posted a similar question about this yesterday. Our attorney uploaded primary applicant documentation, but the fees have changed and they cannot pay the application fee because of that. So our application cannot be fully submitted. And my application (dependent) cannot be submitted at all until the primary is submitted. Our attorney just says we are in a holding pattern until AIMA updates the fees so they can pay. They just get error messages
I am running into a similar problem, my application was submitted about two months ago, but my lawyer is unable to submit the application of dependents as of today.
AIMA informed us, in person, that the website is experiencing technical difficulties due to the (ongoing) update of the fee amounts. They recommended that we try to issue the DUCs every day and further assured us that we should not worry about meeting the deadline, as they are aware of the technical difficulties that are currently being encountered.
Our attorneys are continuing to try make the payments on our behalf, so we haven’t been bothering them. But I’m frustrated that we worked as quickly as we could to gather all of our documentation and now we sit and wait to get our application in! You would think AIMA would want our money
There’s still no update at all. Our lawyer clearly told us that AIMA is currently unable to manually generate the DUC, and both email requests and in-person submissions are not feasible.
Our attorney just emailed this morning they they received notice from AIMA that they can now submit main applicant fees. So they are submitting (we paid them so they are paying AIMA) and dependent application can then be submitted and fees paid. So things are moving along again
I’ve been to AIMA today with the lawyer to ask how we can pay without the DUC working.
They told my lawyer to send an email to ask to pay it. I don’t think he did this, but within an hour my lawyer had recieved an email from AIMA with the DUC attached.
Yes, at last my lawyer also told me that AIMA mailed the main applicant DUC to be paid ASAP. Now, the wait starts for the main applicant card to be issued, then the dependent DUC to be paid and the wait for the dependent card. The saga continues after 4.5 years… Interesting to see that things suddenly started to move again for many of us at the same time. I wonder if the recent law change which effectively makes the whole Portuguese GV process very uncompetitive and impractical vis-à-vis other country programs is the turning point… After 4.5 years of wait and taking into account the recent changes and the total cost of the whole process, I have a lot of doubts for the remaining feasibility of Portuguese GV scheme.
