What is your advice?
Had been in Ecuador since Jan 2020, and now going back to Germany (am German).
What travel route would you recommend?
I would prefer to take just one direct flight, and do the rest via buses.

Direct to Germany is not possible from Quito. The only non-stop flights I spotted at the moment were to Madrid, so unless you want to take ground transportation from Madrid to Germany I would recommend a one-stop flight instead. With one stop you can get to e.g. Munich or Frankfurt in February for just short of €900, then take local transport from there.
If you really only want to take one flight, you could travel overland to Bogotá and take a direct Lufthansa flight from there to Frankfurt. But it will be more expensive at around €1,200.
