That would screw up their renewal as they would not be able to prove financial dependency on you. Unless they start working now and then quit just in time before the renewal. And also they’d need to juggle their full-time education status, in the reverse sequence.
Thanks, What document I should expect to give them by the time of renewal? Maybe they can switch to work permit instead but I am not sure that would screw up the naturalization process…
The period of legal residence (5 years) for the naturalization process can be earned on any type of permit, so your dependants can switch to work permit (D2?) however I am sure you know the requirement of stay in-country would not be 7 days any more.
To the AIMA. When my dependants have to renew their residence permit.
I believe proof of enrolment of the educational establishment and proof of some funds transfer to their bank account to show their dependency?
I want my dependants to apply for citizenship, and they can apply from 2026 November ( renewal of the card is 2026 July).
First application was submitted 2021 Oct. So, 5 years would be passed.
But I concern that changing the residence permit from ARI family reunification to work permit would screw up the “initial application date”
Meaning that AIMA’s document “contagem tempo” would not show the submission date of ARI family reunification application instead show of work permit application.
And even if they manage to switch to work permit. Physical card might not arrive before they apply for citizenship…
