Just want to have a quick check on how I can change the number related to my Novobanco account. I’m not able to receive any SMS code on my current number. Currently, the bank is rolling out MFA and I’m not able to log on to my APP without the code. For web page, it also now requires the APP push notifications. Now I’ve lost every access to the net bank. I tried calling the helpline, they are not able to change the number for me. I tried calling the relationship manager, never picking up…
Is your number a Portugal number or any from EU, if not you can’t receive sms from novobanco for app log on- that’s what my relationship manager told me
I used to receive SMS from NovoBanco to my US number, but now it can’t either. Totally frozen now as we are caught in a circular failure. Can’t do anything with a mobile phone message, but they are not sending messages to mobile phone any longer. Need to switch to a +351 mobile phone, but can’t make that change without receiving an SMS. Does anybody have a solution to this? Thanks
I have a similar problem, and figure it’s probably just one of those things I will have to go to a branch in person to resolve when I do my bio appointment. Not looking forward to it.
I have had no problems with accessing my virtual us number with ParkMyPhone. I regularly can access US Financial Institutions and landlines with it. I access it with my PT number and can get voicemails thru Gmail. It may be an option for you.
Will the bank send your code to email? Or can you authenticate through the mobile app? A lot of banks are steering away from SMS, since it’s not that secure. Passkeys are best IMHO.
I did have the same issue for the last whole year. I called the customers service, and they guide me to change the number via the webpage to change the cell number. After 2 weeks I got a letter from them with the code to activate the mobile app. Now it works fine. Its better you can call the technical service and ask them which number will be supported. I had the Chinese number before, but it didnt work. Later on I changed to a HK number,then it works.
