ETIAS and Golden Visa

We are planning a trip to Greece this summer and, as Americans, will need to get ETIAS to enter; however, we just received our residence cards. Can we enter Greece with our Portuguese residence cards and no ETIAS? Seems strange since we aren’t planning to go to Portugal on this trip. We will probably go ahead and get ETIAS, but I am curious if we really need to now.

Enter the EU with my PT Residency card

Hi, we are planning our next visit to Portugal for a few months from now. We received our residence cards 2 months ago… so exciting! I just want to confirm again that we wont need to apply for Schengen visa’s. As a South African citizen we would have to apply for a Schengen visa before we can travel to any EU country. Can we now just take our passport and PT residency card and travel to PT via any border entry? Thanks again for this great resource!

According to the ETIAS website, you do not need one if you are a holder of a residence permit or a residence card issued by any European country requiring ETIAS.

Thank you! Yes I just wanted to be 100% sure before I start booking tickets etc. I even emailed the Portuguese consulate here in South Africa, who confirmed the same. Thanks again.
