Evidence of couple status for Portuguese GV

Hi, we are trying to determine what we can provide for evidence as a couple for a Golden Visa. Apparently in Portugal a parish can provide a letter but we do not have that in the UK. Has anyone applied as a couple who is not married or has a civil partnership certificate. We live together but don’t have a certificate…

This is firmly a lawyer question. I suspect you’ll just want to/have to get married to be able to apply as a couple

Thanks for your reply

There are suggestions online that unmarried couples who have lived together for two years can apply together, provided they can show documentation to prove the relationship - such as evidence they share an address, have joint accounts/assets, etc. And if there are children, that’s obviously v helpful. But definitely get legal advice on what’s required.

That is the case. This is different from Spain, for example.

What did you end up doing for your GV application? We are in the process of applying and have an affidavit of domestic partnership notarized and in the process of being apostilled by our SOS. It states that we have been together 36 years, living together for 32 years and have children together. We are hoping that will be enough evidence of a committed relationship. But we have also submitted a property tax document (for utility paperwork) that shows both names on our home. So all of that may work? Just wondering what you ended up using that worked for you so we can maybe emulate it as we start. Thanks-
