Hi all. So I’m at the planning stage of my Portuguese journey and I’m currently in real need of consultations on the topic of immigration and taxes. Hence, currently looking for quality vetted lawyers. What are some of the best ways to find good Portuguese lawyers over the internet? Are there any special repositories of these or may be you know of a forum/group where I can find one or get one suggested to me. Appreciate any tips.
Erik - welcome to the journey. With no disrespect intended at all, but you have already found the forum on the “internet” you need. This place is replete with folks months or years ahead of you (and me) on the trek and there is an abundance of resources to draw on, including references for attorneys, bankers, et al. Please, rather than open up a new thread, pour yourself a nice glass of Portuguese wine (red, for me…) and spend a couple hours perusing the depth of submissions already here. Cheers, and welcome to the path.
Obrigado.
Hey. Thanks for the reply. The questions I have are rather complicated. Really. No info on this or any of the forums I’ve perused. That’s why I’m looking for a qualified lawyer, especially for tax questions, who’s had many clients and knows how the system actually works statistically and empirically.
There are plenty of threads and discussion on lawyer recommendations
Here’s 5 lawyer to look at:
- Tomás Assis Teixeira, lawyer at CCA (CCA Law Firm) - email: tat@cca.law
- Vasco Barreira , lawyer at SBPS (link) vascobarreira@sbpslegal.com
- Bruna Casagrande, lawyer at Antas da Cunha (link) – email: bcasagrande@adcecija.pt
- Sara Outeiro from NSM Lawyers - Email: so@nsmadvogados.pt
- Sara Sousa Rebolo from Prime Legal - EmailSara.rebolo@prime-legalfirm.com
For international tax questions I’d recommend Fresh Portugal. It’s who I’m personally using.
Most lawyers and accountants really have no clue when it comes to international tax questions, so if you have an even remotely complex situation I’d look for someone specialized in that field.
As I am years into this process and continue to learn something new every month. I recommend that you use personal referrals to attorneys and interview/vet them well. IMO be cautious about those in forums “offering” their services.
Thanks. Duly noted. Do you have any recommendations for immigration and tax lawyers?
i am happy to share my experience with you. please dm or email me.
