Hi Everyone!
I am new here at Nomad Gate and I am a bit confused! I donāt know where I pay taxes! Or where I should be paying.
I am Venezuela/Italy passport holder. Have lived all of my life in Venezuela and never paid taxes because I have never worked. I just recently emigrated Venezuela for The Netherlands. I started working in The Netherlands for the European Union as an Italian and was issued a IT Taxpayer ID (Codice Fiscale) which my EU Institution used for my the payments of my tax free salary. This IT Taxpayer # had my residence as outside of Italy in my Venezuela address.
At the same time I went to the dutch municipality and asked for BSN Number (akin to Social Security Number) which I was given but this number also stated as a Non Resident RNI, that my address was also in Venezuela.
My EU job contract ended and I recently travelled to Spain where I got Spanish Residency (NIE registration). I am currently not working in Spain, or working anywhere. I have never worked apart from my 1st short length contract in NL, and in Barbados. This Spanish residency I have it under a Spanish Address.
So where should I be taxed? I donāt have a clue which EU country would I be working in. I donāt like Spain much, I just got the residency here because it was easy for me and it allowed to exchange my Venezuelan Driverās License to European Union -by an agreement between both countries.
Anyways since I donāt work and have never worked since that EU job, where should I be paying taxes when I get income? I have now Venezuelan,Italian,Dutch,Spanish Taxpayer #s. I really donāt know and I am also country hoping quickly.
I am not getting any EU Healthcare benefits, I think I was filled for Italian Healthcare card while working for European Union but Iām not even sure of this.
Anyways Iām still finding the place to settle in, establish a professional career, I am pretty young but it seems like in the last two years I have been collecting Residency or Taxpayer Numbers that I donāt even see clear where I should be taxed or what happens with me.

Hello. My name is Richard and I have lived overseas several times including France, Spain, and Italy. I am now considering moving to Portugal and working to obtain permanent residency for retirement in about 5 years. I am interested in the Golden Visa option for several reasons - the primary reason being the low requirement on time spent in the country and the option of working in Portugal or other EU countries.
Hi, folks - Nick from San Francisco, CA, working on a 3-year plan to cash it in after 25 years in the Bay Area. Iāve spent most of my life in industrial design, working with products you might have seen at one time or another like Beats by Dre. Iāve been part of SLUG (San Francisco League of Urban Gardeners) in SF for 20+ years, love, love to teach and help people get passionate about and grow their own food. Happy to help anybody out with All things California should they be traveling. I was raised in Missouri and Saudi Arabia - go figure. My hope is to find out a lot more about Portugalās GV program and meet some folks who have made the leap from the U.S. Look forward to helping out where I can as well. -Nick

Iām Jennifer from Colorado, USA. Currently living in Bangkok, Thailand where my job takes me all over East and South Central Asia. Looking to retire in a few years , but not necessarily in the gun-toting dystopia that American has become. Looking at either the real-estate or investment fund options for obtaining permanent residency in Portugal. Would like to spend part of the year there and improve my meager Portuguese language skills I acquired while living in Brazil. Since I can work part-time remotely and will have steady pension income, I donāt need to sell anything! Cheers
