More AIMA process updates (CPLP focused)

I follow AIMA on LinkedIn (LinkedIn Login, Sign in | LinkedIn) and they posted 2 days ago an updated mechanism for CPLP applicants to renew and today a new mechanism for getting appointments.

While not directly relevant for us, it does hint that they are working behind the scenes to get the processes updated for renewal. Given that the current system is basically broken, itโ€™s nice to see some glimmer of hope.

For those of us without LinkedIn, could you screenshot the post please?

And/or describe the new system(s)?

Thank you for sharing!

I assume youโ€™re referring to this?

So now we have been sent to the end of the queue with 213000 applicants preceding us.

Yeah, alarm bells started ringing when I read this:

Leitรฃo Amaro said that these CPLP citizens will start to be called from next week for the collection of biometric data and verification of the documents necessary for the replacement and renewal of the residence permits issued.

So that new focus on processing GVs that AIMA announced last month? โ€œWeโ€™ll get right to you, after we finish serving these 213,000 other customersโ€ฆโ€

And he is rightโ€ฆThis is the VIP experience we paid for.

I apologize, I didnโ€™t realize it wasnโ€™t available if you arenโ€™t signed in. Hereโ€™s the text:
