sure, no problem:
Thanks. Well, I sent them an email to geral@aima…and sent them a request via the contact form.
Some people report to have received an email inviting them to proceed with registration. In my case I haven’t received anything.
Awesome, thank you! We’re all rooting for you. Keep us posted! ![]()
I’m not sure about this. I heard horror stories of people paying immediately and the payment just gets “lost”. The advice was to always wait 48 hours.
Hopefully they fixed that bug in the system - but I wouldn’t want to be the test subject myself!
Well, I know at least one person who did the payment right away and managed to move further to the upload of documents.
My lawyer contacted me today regarding an important update about my card renewal appointment. The appointment that had previously been scheduled for June was reportedly cancelled by AIMA.
According to my lawyer, AIMA announced that these appointments were cancelled and that applicants will need to reapply online through the ARI platform. I was also informed that my email address was provided to the system and that I should receive a verification email directly.
Has anyone experienced the same situation? Has anyone already received the verification email or been able to reschedule through the platform?
I would really appreciate it if you could share your experience.
Wow, even IMI Daily is losing its Pollyanna “everything is wonderful with Portugal’s Golden Visa” disposition ![]()
A functioning renewal portal may help, but AIMA’s track record of missed deadlines gives practitioners little basis for confidence.
@ably - reposting your question here in the correct thread (the thread you posted in is about first-time appointments for people who don’t even have cards yet).
Your lawyer’s advice contradicts what the IMI Daily article I posted above says. People with more renewal experience on this thread can better judge who is correct ![]()
IMI says…
Applicants who already hold scheduled in-person appointments for biometric collection must keep them. AIMA’s announcement specifies that these previously arranged appointments, flagged in earlier notifications, remain binding.
My payment went through and now I have access to documents uploading.
Can you please printscreen or send here the list of documents ?
What is the last item “Contribution Status” referring to?
It’s the documents proving you don’t have any outstanding debt to the tax authorities in Pt.
I am more puzzled by the second line. Proof of subsistence should not be applicable to ARI.
Better send both documents.

Yes, your comment was clearly harsh, especially since I actively participated and answered questions whenever possible. That’s why I felt hurt these past few days.
I understand your frustration with people who only ask questions without doing their own research. However, that frustration shouldn’t be directed at those who actually contribute. If you’re frustrated with people who are too lazy to do their own research, then ignore them.
Congratulations on your success. Could you tell me the fee you had to pay? Was it €181 or €3700?
Thanks so much for posting this. Is this list for the main applicant only, or does it also apply to dependents? Curious whether the required documents differ for dependents. Appreciate any insight!
thank you very much for sharing!
Are you main applicant or dependent?
I am guessing that right now the system only allows main applicants to renew…
