No DUC, lawyers suggest direct IBAN transfer — legit?

It’s been more than two months since my first card has been issues, and since then I’ve been waiting for a DUC for my wife’s first card (biometrics in 2023, so old process).

My lawyers say that the wait could be long, and suggested I send a wire transfer directly to AIMA’s IBAN, so that transfer reference includes our process number and my wife’s full name. As I understood the lawyers, there’s some difficulty with issuing DUCs, but once AIMA receives the money, they will start the card issuance process.

This sounds rather crazy to me: how difficult is it to issue an electronic invoice, and if it is, I wonder how many years of my 4+ year process is just somebody at AIMA not being able to press a damn button on screen.

But nevertheless, I’d love to confirm that somebody else already did that successfully, and I don’t risk sending 6314.20 EUR to the void and never seeing it again — does anybody have experience with this?

In the forum I found someone mentioning that they did a direct IBAN transfer to AIMA in 2024 — has anybody done it since 2025 changes?

considering AIMA can’t even apply a payment correctly/timely made based on a DUC in some cases, I would not do it. my two cents.
