Can you private message someone on this site?
Yes. Make sure you’re logged in. Click on the name of the person you want. Near the top of their profile page is a big green Message button.

I’ve tried to DM a couple of people on the site and am receiving an error message.
“An error occurred: Sorry, you cannot send personal messages to email.”
Does anyone know what this error is and why I can’t DM people?
