Hi all. Just started my GV process through investment fund in Portugal. Very overwhelming lol. I’m looking for a US accountant who can help with my filings in order to avoid huge US penalties. I was reading about the QEF, but most of this stuff is not in my wheel house. Looking for someone who specializes in this AND can explain things in an understandable way. I’m located in Florida, but can use someone virtually. Thank you in advance!

Hi Emily! I got the name of an accountant who could do my taxes (but I’m not close to being there yet). I think what I really need is a tax advisor who can answer my questions. I have not yet found such a person. How far along in the process are you? Also if you find someone please let me know!
When I lived in FL, I used BDO in West Palm Beach for filing. Not cheap but well informed, reliable and helpful. They can advise on QEF election.
