Understanding the permanent address requirements

Hi,

I hope that I have landed in the right space, please let me know if that isn’t the case.

I am a freelance graphic designer and am fortunate enough to meet the earning criteria to become a digital nomad in Europe.

I would like to register as a DN in Greece, Spain or Portugal but I guess this question could apply to almost anywhere.

I have studied the many requirements needed and am comfortable that I can supply the necessary documentation regarding my income etc but what I am struggling to get my head around is how I provide proof of a permanent address.

I am buying a good sized motorhome here in the UK and want to use that as my accommodation and my office. All I need is my Mac and my cameras and a good internet connection and I can work anywhere (I have a Starlink set up and would be taking that with me for internet connection as well as a back up 4g connection).

So, if everything went as I hoped and I could get used to living and working from the motorhome, I don’t have the requirement for actual fixed accommodation.

So how would I overcome that requirement? Or would the fact that I was living and working from a motorhome exempt me?

I hope I have explained my question well enough and any advice would be greatly welcomed.

I have a family friend who lives in Athens who, I am sure, would allow me to use his address, providing there is no significant financial burden to them (Tax etc).

Would living with a family friend count as a permanent accommodation address or does it have to be rented accommodation etc?

Any advice gratefully received and thanks in advance.

Andy

In short, you’d need some fixed address in the UK for all practical purposes.
And no, a friend’s address in Athens would not cut it.

Here you may find some tips:

Thanks Tommy;

I have a permanent UK address that I can use.

If my friend in Athens was prepared to register me as a paying lodger, I guess that could be a solution in order to meet the Greek digital nomad visa requirements?

Thanks for the van post recommendation. I shall investigate further.
