AIMA Appointment --> Did anyone manage to schedule appointment after uploading the documents again

@Andrew77 are you talking about renewals? I had my appointment last week, and my partner’s is scheduled for 2 weeks from now. We just filled out the form on the Contacto page at AIMA, probably back in July or August. We ended up hiring an attorney after scheduling the appointments, mainly because I was out of town on the date of my meeting, and the attorney went in my place.

Thank you, that is what we thought too, but with pushing so many through at once, maybe our attorney can get the date changed. I will keep everyone posted if we get another date. Honestly, after reading so many concerns with the law change and whether we will be grandfathered in or not, we could be dodging a bullet. The whole thing has lost it’s luster after years of waiting and ups and downs. We are at the age that waiting 10 to 15 more years would be useless.

No, I’m referring to getting your biometrics appointment. I just got mine last week (set for March) but my wife has not gotten her date yet. From what I’m reading, lots of ppl who are waiting for their biometrics appointment just got it, but nobody’s family/spouses did. I’m worried our dates will be incredibly far apart.

I emailed our lawyers this week to ask if they have any sense of when we’ll get our cards, now that it’s been five months since our biometrics appointment. Their response was about what you’d expect:

At this point, it’s still too soon to provide a precise update. We are currently receiving cards for applicants who completed their biometrics in 2023, so we anticipate that it may take at least another 6 months to a year for your cards to arrive.

Your lawyer does not seem to know what they are talking about.
If it was 5 months ago, you should have completed your bio under the ‘new process’, so should have gotten your ‘final approval’ and paid for it there and then.
Comparing your case to the ‘old process’ applicants from 2023 makes no sense at all.

Hmm, that’s a very good point, Tommy!

Nov 6, 2025: Yes; I just heard back that my AIMA biometrics appointment is on Feb 27, 2026! Finally some action on my application. Still waiting to receive the date(s) for my family members. Hopefully, they will be within a day or 2, so we don’t have to go separately.

Oh but it does make sense in AIMA Land™ where senselessness and incompetence reign supreme!

The ‘AIMA new process’ broke down very soon after it started this year…

Hi everyone. I have below two questions if you can ask your lawyers and let us know, i will check with my lawyer also and update you. I posted these questions on a different thread also which u might have seen if u were part of it:
Hi everyone, i have below two questions, can you forward to your lawyer please and update me if possible:
Question number one: will the kids be eligible to apply for permanent visa if they are not dependent anymore based on the current law. What does the law say about it? And in case law is not clear and since the program has been around for 13 years now under the five years minimum residence requirement., would you please tell us cases that you have experienced yourself or other colleague lawyers have experienced, where by the time the parents apply for permanent residence, the kids are not dependent anymore, and in this case, was the permanent residence granted or where the kids forced out of the program
Question number two: again, basedon current law and current experiences, once the kids receive permanent residence, is it for life, or it will end at some point in time or it will be denied renewal at a point in time

@Ctayah I have responded to your questions in the appropriate thread: Portugal: Permanent Residence Permit for Investment Purposes - #30 by anonymous69

Thank you Sir. Still not clear on what happens if my son finishes university and becomes independent before completing 5 years GV residence. Can he continue with the program (though independent) to complete the 5 years GV residence and then apply for PR.
Thank you

Please ask questions about PR in the thread dedicated to PR - which is not this one as @anonymous69 has already said!

I didn’t get an appointment yet are they releasing appointments in batches or everyone have gotten an appointment and i need to check ?

If you resubmitted your documents earlier this year and you didn’t hear anything yet I’d recommend following up with your lawyer to ask if they received an appointment but just didn’t get around to notifying you yet.

I couldn’t resubmit, the portal remained locked, but still received an appointment! Original submission Apr 2024.

Have your family members gotten biometrics dates yet? Mine has not. I’m worried these appointments are going to be months apart from each other and in different cities entirely.

If anyone has gotten a biometrics for their spouse or family please let me know, thanks!

If you check what happened over the past 4 years, those appointments were years apart and never mind the locations.

Hi Thomas do you know if you have access to see your SEF account webpage would you also receive the notification at the personal email or does that just go to the legal representative email listed on your account.

SEF/AIMA only email to your lawyer’s email.. :face_with_diagonal_mouth:
