It is really unfortunate for those who have been believing in positive words from lawyers and marketers of this program. Conclusion can only be drawn when we all know the outcome. Now the GV is at the bottom of the list.

I am even more appalled by the comments made by the head of the concerned institution.
The last email from my lawyer from IAS about a month ago was that AIMA has started to schedule bios appointments and no skepticism or criticism is allowed. There was some news about GV applications were postponed rather than handled at the same time with the other types of residence then and I also sent that link to the lawyer but he said itās just an opinion rather than news.
All I can do and have done is that I have never recommended PT GV to anyone around me.

I just donāt understand how hard it is to process 50k applications. Even if 5% of resources are allocated, which is totally reasonable

The worst thing is that instead of stopping new applications and solving the backlog, they keep taking in new applications. In 6 months or one year, the backlog increases 2x. No one really cares. Just trying to milk the cash cows as much as possible. 
Instead of funding law firms by filing lawsuits, we could easily solve this. 
I have set up a business, paying taxes, engaged accountants over and above the real estate i bought. My money is welcome but not me. 
@ohbee has donated 250k in an artistic project and receives nothing so far. His 250k was gone just like flushing the toilet. Therefore you can refrain youself from engaging/conducting business in this country. They do not care!
Note that this article was published back in mid-February. Still, itās true that there has only been a trickle of biometric appointments scheduled since then.
That being said, letās keep this thread on topic. Thereās another thread for venting your frustrations.

Hello everyone, we have shared our updated documents with our lawyers almost a month ago and until date they didnāt update the application claiming that they are waiting for the documents needed from the Portuguese government to submit with the application,
What documents are needed from the government for the golden visa application and did anyone else face the same situation?

I had a similar situation, where my lawyers would go silent for a couple of weeks and then ask for another document, go silent, ask again, etc. The only document that they needed from the government though was confirmation that I wasnāt delinquent on any taxes. I never really got an answer on why they kept asking for more or why there were so many delays, but it seems clear that AIMAās instructions lacked specificity and that many, many people are trying to upload documents which Iām sure contributed.
Sounds an awful like my situation with EDGE and Iām getting frustrated. Itās not hard to communicate even if the update is āno update.ā

Hello all, we finally received notification for biometrics appointments as well as notification of documents needed to be updated all at the same time. The appointment only came in the main. applicants name although he still needs docs as well but the rest of the family did not receive individual emails with appointment. Is. it one appointment for for the whole family or do we need to wait for emails with appointments for each and what if they are all on different dates?? We are not in Portugal and would need to all travel together especially since we have minor children??? Very confusing?

Hi, which month is the appointment in, if you donāt mind sharing? And what was the status of your application (was it already opened for submission but you hadnāt received the email and hadnāt refreshed your documents?)
Asking because our application is āacceptedā and not opened for submission, but we did receive an email asking us to upload documents in December ā24. Wondering if we might still receive appointments without documents being updated
In our case, our attorneys succeeded in uploading documents for me as primary applicant and were able to make a biometrics appointment for the entire family. They say theyāre trying to upload the docs for the rest of the family (so far without luck) and are optimistic theyāll be able to do so before the appointment date.
Itās not clear to me what happens if they fail, as the spouse and dependent docs will have aged out by our biometrics date.
Iām debating whether to get another set of background checks for my wife and the kids, to bring to the appointment on paper. But at the moment I havenāt pulled the trigger on that.
Hi Guys, I have uploaded documents on 20th Jan , may be our advocate not aware and she only ask me to send bank statement and Portugal rent agreement ( my family is in Portugal) , we did not uploaded anything else and simply saved with these documents.
After that Jan 24 to today, AIMA portal again opened for us to submit documents, requesting to know what are documents i need to upload this time
