Share your status about recent Massive biometric appointment

I have the exact same location and time line for me and my dependents . Applied April 2025.

Thanks,
Ali

Just got the email for dependent appointments, Wife & Mom scheduled Jan 25, 2027 in Lisbon. A year and 2 weeks after mine and 4 years after app. On par.

Is it safe to assume that you have not yet received your residence permit? It’s interesting to see these appointments coming through because I’ve read that AIMA wasn’t issuing dependent biometric appointments until the primary applicant had their card issued.

No card so far, in fact just yesterday my lawyer at a largish firm said that None of their clients from the Jan appt block has received a card so far. Thinking 6 months minimum. We’ll see.

Applied June of 2025. Had initial AIMA appointment in Cascais this late January 2026 for fingerprints and payment as primary applicant.

No card issued as of yet.

Now I have just received notification of my dependent’s immigration appointment in FARO (Algarve) on 1 February 2027. A full 12 months after my initial biometrics appointment.

Thanks for sharing that info from your firm. Ours is also largish and they claim nobody has received cards yet. The same firm told us that AIMA was supposed to send appointments now for appointments in the second 6 months of the year. Seems that target has not been met, now that we are getting appointments in the second month of 2027.

Same update as others:

  • Applied in July 2025
  • Biometrics in January 2026 (Cascais)
  • Appointment for Spouse arrived yesterday - January 2027 (Faro)

No word on a residency card.

Same for my situation.

Applied May 2025
Biometrics in January 2026 (Cascais)
Appointment for spouse arrived yesterday March 2027 (Portomao)

I see a trend of not treating applicants equally here. Interesting to see the dates/times of others next to each other.

Just received word from lawyers that dependent appointment was received yesterday.

Main applicant application June 2025
Dependent applied July 2025
Main appt Jan 2026 (Cascais) No new docs needed nor requested
Dependent appt Feb 2027 (Faro) New docs requested by attorney as cya measure but not mentioned in AIMA email
No card received, database updated

Main applicant application- Feb 2023
Dependent application - March 2023
Main applicant Biometrics Appointment - March 2026 (Cascais)
Dependents (wife and kid) Bio Appointment - Jan 2027 (Lisbon)
(For Dependent new docs requested by lawyer)
No card yet.

How frustrating — biometrics appointments alone are now being scheduled 3–4 years after the application, especially for dependents, with possibly another year or more before the actual card is issued.

applied in October 2025 and just received an appointment for October 2026 in Lisbon.

I disagree, inept bureaucracy and scam are not the same thing.

Okay, you can say that, no problem. I know many people who started investing in 2025 received biometrics opportunities in less than six months, and many are grateful for PT gov. However, the harsh reality will come sooner or later. Look at 2020 and 2021, there were still a large number of applicants who didn’t receive their cards. I know some even had their documents lost by AIMA and had to participate in biometrics twice. On the one hand, the government explicitly stated that out of humanitarian considerations, it would prioritize vulnerable groups and put the Golden Visa investors last. On the other hand, the entire interest group still smiled and told investors that the final approval and card issuance would be completed within 90 days. This kind of empty talk and hypocrisy, I don’t know how to evaluate it.

Yes,I did biometrics freakin twice!!

Application Apr 2025
Primary investor biometrics Jan 2026
All dependents now scheduled for biometrics Feb 2027
No card yet

Notified on May 12 that my spouse biometrics appointment is scheduled for January 21, 2027…in Faro. Faro isn’t ideal to get to for us but we will be there nonetheless. Still no temp visa for me after my January 2026 biometrics appt though.

Original application August 2025, biometrics February 2026 and spouse scheduled March 2027 in Vila Real. Both main applicant and spouse must be present. Our Daughter and family were a month or so behind us, then the system wouldn’t recognize payment (made by our attorneys) until April 2026. Nothing for them and no word on main applicant’s temporary resident card.
