Does your lawyer forward you the entire original email from AiMA?
They should be a date in the email to tell you when it was sent.

Exactly, once they have the Visa Fee at biometrics, there’s no longer a real incentive to issue the card.
My honest expectation for Residency card in my hand is 2030.

They copied and pasted bits and pieces so no date. That being said, AIMA sent out the appointments for 90% of applicants on 30 and 31 October according to PAIIR/the lawyers on the GV group chat. AIMA has been silent since then.

It’s unlikely. The main applicant applies and pays the fees first, and then family members can apply and reunite after the main applicant’s application is approved. Unlike in the past when there was a pre-approval process, now only biometrics is considered the formal start of GV application.

No, there is logic. Those who applied in 2021/2022 are most likely stuck in closed-end funds and can’t liquidate them. Those applying today might be opting for open-ended funds. Why not give them appointments first and lure them into the programme before they understand all the pitfalls and pull their investments out?

I applied in Dec 2024, received confirmation of biometric appointment March 2026, which is a 15 month wait. This was for the main applicant only.
One of my friends applied in July 2025, and received his biometric date in April 2026, just an 8 month wait. This was for the main applicant only.
This is really sad news if this is the case, our kids will get the residence card 5 years from now.(if we get approved and if they dont age out).
Maybe we should go to court again in order to include our kids in the biometrics

No, the appointment doesn’t appear on my portal page. My lawyer did send me the official notice though.
