Just one question: after submitting, did they request you any additional documents?
No. Just waiting, they didn’t reply any email. I think you will probably receive it soon.
If I recall, there was an extension of the validity of expired permits to April 15. In addition, where one had a renewal appointment, the validity of the expired permit continues for 180 days. Is there any clarification of the status of those who had renewal appointments more than 180 days ago?
Received me card today. Appt was in Tavira on 23 Sept, date on card March 20, 2026, valid for three years, received 27 Apr.

Congrats but good grief, seven months? I had a renewal appointment in January so I guess I still have a wait ahead! To look on the bright side, the longer they drag it out, at least AIMA might forfeit another renewal fee before my citizenship is finalized.

I just heard that my mid-November 2025 renewal appointment for a June 2025 expiration has not yet been assigned to a reviewing officer.
Since there is 6 mos grace do not expect nada till the end of the year.
My card expired in Jan 25 and had the renewal appointment in Oct 25 and still no card as of date today !!

Same for my family. Expired Jan 25, appointments in October-ish. I called Aima this week - they said they weren’t in analysis yet! Oh well. They confirmed we’re still ok with the expired cards and renewal paperwork. Idk how mine personally went so “fast” compared to my family’s. Luck of the draw.
Hi everyone! I have a question about the new QR code proof. Has anyone who applied in 2025, before the new online portal was launched (and only has a manual receipt) managed to get the new receipt with a QR code?
Authorities now only accept the AIMA receipt with the QR code. Is it possible to generate this digital version if the biometrics were already done and have manual receipt with stamp and signature?
Its not possible. Only way to get the QR code is to apply again under the new process.
@anonymous94 : Thanks for your response! Re-applying isn’t an option right now. Is it possible to visit AIMA in person to request a proof of application (with a QR code)? If not, is there any other way to get it?

This is the first I’ve heard of dependents getting biometric appointments! Is this for your first residency card? When did you have your appointment for your RC?
