Films and documentaries about long-term travel and life on the road?

Hi everyone,

I’ve recently been looking for films and documentaries about long-term travel, slow travel, nomadic life, and people who choose travel as more than just a short holiday.
I’m especially interested in stories about living on the road, changing places often, travelling with fewer possessions, spending more time in one country or region, and trying to understand what daily life feels like when travel becomes a lifestyle rather than a break from normal life.
Films I’ve seen so far:
A Map for Saturday
I liked this one because it shows long-term backpacking in a very honest way. It captures both the freedom and the loneliness that can come with moving from place to place.
The Secret Life of Walter Mitty
This is fiction, but I enjoyed the feeling of curiosity, movement, and stepping outside a routine life. It is not a practical travel documentary, but it has a strong travel atmosphere.
Expedition Happiness
I liked the vanlife side of this film and the idea of building a life around movement. It also shows that travelling long-term is not always as easy or romantic as it looks from the outside.
180° South
This one felt more reflective to me. I liked the slower pace, the landscapes, and the connection between travel, adventure, and personal values.
Given
I enjoyed the more personal and family-based perspective. It shows travel as something connected with learning, nature, culture, and relationships.

What I’m most interested in are films or documentaries that show the real rhythm of long-term travel: planning, uncertainty, simple routines, meeting people, adapting to new places, missing home, and finding meaning in movement.

I’d love to hear your recommendations. Are there any films, documentaries, TV series, YouTube channels, or older programs that you think capture long-term travel, slow travel, vanlife, backpacking, overlanding, or nomadic living particularly well?
Lesser-known titles and personal favourites would be especially welcome.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
