US/Brazilian moving to Portugal Question

I am a US citizen married to a Brazilian National (also now a US citizen). I am looking to retire/move to Portugal in the next 8 years and have been looking into the different golden visa options (or other options). I wanted to know if A) Because my wife is brazilian (no-portuguese parents/grandparents) and I have option to get brazilian citizenship later on through marriage, there would be a better way of gaining residency/citizenship in Portugal. B) I know there are reciprocal benefits granted to brazilians residing in Portugal such as healthcare, education, etc. What exactly would we receive over what the golden visa would provide? Thanks!

Hi @mastermind85. Being a BR national would not bring you any advantage in gaining PT citizenship or the golden visa. There is an agreement between PT and BR granting equal rights to each other’s citizens living in the other country in relation to voting rights, employment/labor rights, etc. Hope this helps. Take care and stay safe
