Introduce yourself! šŸ‘‹

Hello everyone
I’m new here. Happy to be among everyone. Im a retired teacher trying to set up a new business. I live in Middle East.

Hello my name Is Tim and i am an older man who plans on retiring in asia as i have spend the last 20 years traveling there for business but now its time to leave the USA and move on in life. I have been to most of the asian countries but find Thailand as my perfered place and instead of staying in a large city i have chose Korat in northern thailand . My main concern is health insurance at my age.

Hi Everyone, I’m Florence from Nigeria. I’ve lived in France but mostly in Nigeria where I reside now. I’ve got older kids living or schooling in North America and as I get closer to retirement I’d love to have a passport that permits me to travel easily around the world especially so I can visit my kids hence my interest in the Portuguese GV. I think I would love to spend more time in Portugal too, I found the people very friendly and the cost of living low. Lovely climate too. I love reading and recommend ā€˜Half of a yellow sun’ by Chimamanda Adichie.

Hello there,
I’m Claudia from Germany.
I have lived in Germany until 2003. I have then moved to the US. In 2006 I went to Seoul, South Korea for two years. After that, I spent 8 months in Rome, Italy, and have been in Brussels, Belgium since 2009.
I have always enjoyed traveling and living abroad. I’m currently working toward becoming location-independent with regard to work.
I have changed my career path about 4 years ago. I have a German law degree but transitioned into teaching German as a second language. From teaching, I transitioned into creating interactive online exercised for teachers and students. I enjoy doing that a lot more than the actual teaching.
In addition to that, I’m in the process of becoming a certified life coach which I will finish in the springtime of next year.
I also love coffee and painting.

Happy to join this community! :world_map:

Hello everyone! My name is Maira.
I have been an English teacher for over 15 years while, at the same time, working remotely as an academic writer. I am here to get advice so I can get a borderless account that does not need to be connected to my bank account.
Excited to get to know you all! :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi all, I am a university professor in public health. I’m looking for a backup plan for a US passport. Lucky as I am to have it, it might not have the benefits that it does not. So, I’m going for a Golden Visa in Portugal.

Hi,
I’m joe, currently working as a network support specialist for a big telco in Canada. I’m getting close to being financially independent and to go back to living in Europe at least part-time.
My passion is to trade / invest and challenge myself to beat the money game.
Portugal might be the place I can call home in the near future once I retire and enjoy life.
I’d love to make contacts, friends, and expand my network.

I’m American, from New York State, but I’ve made my home in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia since 2003. I can speak Malay fluently, but not well.

My wife is Malaysian and we have a daughter. I’m a programmer, primarily focused on frontend Web Development. I currently work remotely for an American company.

In my experience, Malaysia has been a very difficult place for an American to live. Malaysian Immigration has never made it easy and it’s only become slightly better since I first moved here. I can’t open a bank account because I don’t have a national Identity Card. And I can’t (legally) work or earn money here in spite of being married to a Malaysian citizen.

I recently lost access to my American bank account and, due to Coronavirus restrictions, the postal system appears to be completely shut down. So, I can’t be sent a new card. I found this site while I was googling around for a solution.

I wouldn’t be considered old by most standards, but my health is poor and I don’t expect to see another decade even with an optimistic perspective. This doesn’t make me sad… a well-earned rest. I don’t discuss the subject with my family, though.

I don’t have much of an interest in sports and I hate politics. I love just about all things tech. I enthusiastically identify with several facets of geek culture… I can quote from Star Trek, Star Wars, classic American TV & movies, several different Anime series, and even a few obscure British productions. I haven’t watched ā€œregularā€ TV in many years and I’ll never enter a movie theater again. I like to watch YouTube and I’ll watch anything on Netflix. I’m not picky. I just pick one of the suggestions and watch it through til the end.

Hi everyone,

My name is Jonathan. I came across nomad gate while looking for a new bank account and decided to join the community because I love to travel and see new places. Currently I haven’t traveled outside of the U.S. but have lived in 9 different states in both the east and west coasts as well as the Midwest and finally the south. I hope to get my first stamp in my passport next year when I attend my friend’s wedding in Colombia pending the current circumstances. I hope to learn a lot so that when I take my first overseas trip I’ll be well prepared in advance.

Hi! I’m Sofia, living and working in Manila (from Pakistan). I’m actively exploring the GV for Portugal through investment fund option, and already find this community to be SO helpful. Look forward to interacting and exchanging information.

 Hi all! We’re an American couple with an empty nest and a full-on urge to see the world over the next 10 or so years. Unsure if we’re just going to travel place to place or actually take the leap and settle in Spain or Portugal via the D7 or perhaps one of the investment / real estate programs. We’d be doing some part- time remote consulting but largely plan on living frugally off our savings and from renting out our existing home.

So we’re just here for now to read about your experiences and to gather some information. Great to meet you all!
